SUMMARY:International Women's Day 2024 - Lessons from Pop Culture to #InspireInclusion
DESCRIPTION:Event Recording: \n\n\nAbout the event: \nFrom the iconic Barbie doll’s evolution into a symbol of inclusivity and empowerment to Taylor Swift’s unapologetic embrace of her own narrative and artistic expression\, the past year has witnessed a remarkable resurgence of female empowerment. These cultural icons\, among many others\, have showcased the myriad ways in which women are confidently asserting their influence and courageously breaking through long standing barriers. Whether it’s challenging societal norms\, advocating for equal rights\, or redefining traditional roles\, women across the globe are forging paths of empowerment and inspiring others to do the same. \nJoin us in celebration of International Women’s Day 2024\, as we review the most significant trends of 2023\, and ask what lessons can the tech sector glean from pop culture? \nWe’re hosting in-person gatherings in Auckland and Wellington\, alongside an online session for remote participants. This interactive event is designed to inspire collaborative conversations through both presentations and smaller group discussions. \nExperience a lively presentation covering key pop culture themes from 2023\, including the resurgence of Girl Power\, Gen Z’s impact in the workforce\, and major events like Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. Then\, engage in community discussions\, either in-person or online\, and explore topics such as impactful moments from 2023\, the intersection of pop culture and tech\, and your personal achievements and aspirations for 2024. \n\nEvent Details:  \n\nDate: Friday 8 March\nTime:\nOnline: 12.30pm – 1.30pm\nIn person: 12.15pm – 2.00pm\nLocation:\nWellington – 10 Brandon Street\, Wellington Central\, Wellington 6011\nAuckland – Microsoft – Level 5\, 22 Viaduct Harbour Avenue\nEvent Type: In-person and online\nCost: In-person free for members and $25 for non-members\nOnline: Free\n\n\nWe respectfully ask that all participants planning to attend an in person event are healthy and well.
