DESCRIPTION:Gain insights on Māori tech participation and skills opportunities.  \nWhat role does the Māori tech ecosystem play in the development of local talent for the tech sector? \nJoin NZTech’s CEO Graeme Muller\, NZTech and EdTechNZ Board member Duane Grace\, past Board member Kaye-Maree Dunn and guests as they explore Māori tech participation and skills opportunities.  \nKaye-Maree will provide an update on the Industry Transformation Plan project that is mapping the Māori tech ecosystem\, sharing emerging insights and their importance. Duane will discuss an initiative underway connecting kura and tech apprenticeships and Graeme will highlight the value of digital apprenticeships\, including current work underway with Ngai Tahu.  \nJoin the conversation about the effectiveness of work integrated learning and the importance of cultural change across the sector.  \nThe Digital Technology Industry Transformation Plan (ITP)’s active workstreams include growing Software as a service (SaaS) exports and our Tech Story\,  We See Tomorrow First.  To help accelerate the tech sector’s growth these workstreams recently received $20 million in funding from the Government’s budget allocations.  To support this growth\, other workstreams are addressing skills issues and the significant potential that will come from increasing Māori participation in tech.  \nDate: Thursday\, 16 June\nTime: 5:30pm – 7:00pm\nEvent Type: Physical \nVenue: Intergen – 80 Willis Street\, Wellington Central\nCost: Free ($25 non- members) \nSupported By \n \nCOVID-19: We operate in accordance with the Covid Protection Framework.
