DESCRIPTION:Join us for breakfast this month and hear BNZ’s Head of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I)\, Lana West speak about creating a high performing workforce for now and the future. Learn how to value diversity of identity and provide an environment of inclusiveness where people flourish. Gain insight into the development of D&I strategy\, including the capture of critical data. Lana will also discuss the inherent challenges and opportunities of D&I initiatives. \n \nAbout Lana:\nLana West is proud of her heritage as a Kiwi Samoan. Growing up in Auckland\, she describes herself as part-islander\, part-mainlander acknowledging her Samoan father and her mother from Dunedin. The 10th of 11 children in her family\, her life has been firmly focused on family\, respect and living in a way that shows courage\, strength and humility. Whilst Lana always thought she would follow her parents into the medical field\, her studies saw her instead embarking on a career in banking and human resources. She has worked in New Zealand\, Australia and Samoa. Outside of work\, Lana has a love of sports and has played netball both provincially and internationally. Community remains important to Lana and she currently either coaches or manages several teams. Lana has a teenage son and in her own words\, is also wildly proud of her cricket coaching Norwegian/Yorkshire husband.
