DESCRIPTION:Factors influencing Australian digital insurance in 2022.\nThe pandemic and regulation were two forces impacting digital insurance in Australia in 2021. The potential expansion of a Consumer Data Right to insurance\, the talent squeeze and sources of fundraising will shape a key growth market for Kiwi InsurTechs in 2022\, while also influencing trends in New Zealand’s own insurance landscape. \nAt our February member Connect event\, we’ll hear the industry perspective from InsurTech Australia as well as the on the ground experiences of two NZ firms\, Grappler and InsuredHQ. \n\nSpeakers:\n \nSimone Dossetorv – CEO at InsurTech Australia \nSimone was appointed CEO of Insurtech Australia in October 2021. Simone brings to the role of CEO her practical experience of developing and transforming insurance businesses to be fit for an increasingly competitive future. \nInsurtech Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation with a vision to create a world leading insurtech ecosystem. Simone has been a supporter of the association since its earliest days and previously served as Non-Executive Director on the Insurtech Australia Board since February 2020. Insurtech Australia  \nSimone has over twenty years’ experience in financial services and the consulting.  Her most recent role was the Chief Operating Officer for Munich Re in Australia where her focus was on delivering the operational platform and capabilities that supported Munich Re’s Life and Non-life business units in delivering innovation opportunities and client solutions. Prior to that she had roles in the Calliden Group\, Deloitte and Trowbridge Consulting\, now part of Finity.  Additionally\, she has been a Non-Executive Director of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) since August 2018. \nSimone is a strong advocate for innovation\, digital and the future of insurance. \n \nColleen MacCarthy – Co-founder and COO at Grappler \nColleen is co-founder and COO of Grappler\, an Enterprise Managed Software as a Service designed to address the automation of the credit control and debtor management process\, specifically the reconciliation of payments and policy data. \nOur software combines traditional rule-based automation with machine learning to automate the reconciliation of direct and indirect payments. Our managed service also provides a team of experienced credit controllers\, all of whom have first-hand knowledge of the insurance industry\, delivering credit control best practices. \nPrior to starting this company\, Colleen did multi-year stints at AIG\, Proactis and QBE in Australia and New Zealand. \n \nJon Davies – CEO at  InsuredHQ \nJon Davies\, Chief Executive Officer at InsuredHQ | Author at the Top10in.tech weekly Newsletter.
