We’re proud to announce that NZTech and the Tech Alliance have come together under a new, unified identity: Tech New Zealand — a name and brand that reflects the depth, diversity, and shared vision of Aotearoa’s tech ecosystem, and the breadth of our work.
Tech New Zealand is funded by its members and guided by a unifying belief that technology is critical to Aotearoa’s future. We move forward together with the drive to bring people together and foster the right conditions to ensure that technology’s impact on our economy, our people, and our planet is a positive one.
What was once a national industry body and a coalition of specialist groups is now a single, coordinated entity — one waka kuaka flying in formation. Each of our 16 communities retains its unique identity and focus, serving the need of its members, while contributing to a collective voice representing thousands of organisations and tens of thousands of workers nationwide.
Tech New Zealand’s role is to be the steady centre of our tech ecosystem — our poutokomanawa — supporting connection, collaboration, and action. Our work now aligns clearly around four areas of impact:
Growth — supporting conditions for a thriving tech economy — lifting productivity, accelerating economic growth, and strengthening access to capital and investment. We champion innovation that fuels high-value jobs, successful tech firms, and strong export performance.
People — Helping to build a skilled, inclusive, and future-ready workforce for Aotearoa. Our focus includes education pathways, digital skills, immigration settings, and advancing equity, inclusion, and diversity across the tech ecosystem — ensuring everyone can participate and succeed.
Planet — driving and supporting innovation that contributes to a sustainable future. This includes climate and sustainability solutions, energy and infrastructure, protection of land and water, advances in food and fibre, flora and fauna resilience, and science and research that strengthens environmental wellbeing.

Good Tech — championing technology that is trusted, safe, and responsibly governed. Our work spans online and digital safety, cybersecurity, trust-building, and the development of governance frameworks and standards that ensure technology benefits people, communities, and the nation.
This evolution marks a new chapter — as the united voice for Aotearoa’s tech ecosystem, Tech New Zealand brings together many hands, many perspectives, and many communities to create meaningful progress for our country.
Together, we are shaping an Aotearoa where technology truly serves our people, our places, and our future.
