We’ve got an action-packed week ahead, working across our ecosystem to build momentum. Our New Zealand IoT Forum is shaping its strategic direction, FinTechNZ’s executive council is meeting to drive innovation in financial services and we’re sitting down with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s (MFAT) economic division to explore new ways to accelerate tech exports.
Techweek26 event submissions have also opened this week, and I’m excited to see how our tech community will bring the 2026 theme The Art of the Possible to life across Aotearoa from 18-24 May.
We’ve designed six pillars to guide your Techweek26 event:
- Foundations (strengthening national infrastructure)
- Future (emerging tech and breakthrough innovation)
- Growth (driving our economy)
- Life (making everyday easier)
- Social Good (solving social challenges)
- Governance (guiding tech responsibly).
Anyone can host an event and it’s free to be part of Techweek26. Host an event and you’ll be featured in our official programme with tools and support to help you promote it. Become a Strategic Sponsor and we’ll work with you to co-design special events for maximum impact.
On 9 March, TechWomen is hosting an International Women’s Day event focused on the theme: Give to Gain. When we invest time, advice and support in each other, we create stronger networks and better outcomes for everyone. That’s what Give to Gain is all about and we hope to see you there. Register here.

French tender opportunity
A French public body is seeking New Zealand technology partners for an upcoming tender. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has shared this directly with us to ensure our members are aware of the opportunity. If you’ve been looking to break into European markets or prove your capability on the global stage, this could be your opening.
