Honouring Mitchell Pham’s leadership + Ada Lovelace Day invite

Kia ora,

Today, as his Board term comes to an end, I would personally like to acknowledge and thank Mitchell Pham for his outstanding service to NZTech. Since joining our Board in 2016 and later stepping into the Chair role following Bennett Medary’s retirement, Mitchell has been a dedicated advocate for our ecosystem. He was also instrumental in establishing FinTechNZ as an NZTech community group. His leadership, vision and tireless commitment have helped shape NZTech’s growth and impact across Aotearoa.

On behalf of our Board and members, thank you Mitchell for your years of contribution and we wish you all the very best for the future. Your leadership has left a lasting legacy for NZTech and we’re grateful for the moment he helped create.

Join our candid conversation on how to champion women’s careers

Join us this month for a special Ada Lovelace Day celebration hosted by TechWomen. We’re honouring women’s achievements in tech and exploring what effective allyship looks like in practice.

Ada Lovelace Day celebrates the achievements of women in STEM, honouring Ada Lovelace, often called the world’s first computer programmer. This year, we’re addressing an often asked question, “How do we get our male colleagues to truly understand and support women in tech?”

With only two men attending our event last year, we’re taking a new approach by bringing women’s stories to the forefront and equipping our community with practical tools for workplace change. Led by facilitator Danielle George (Head of Technology Operations & Business Applications, Westpac NZ), our panel features Dr Sandhya Palepu alongside Jeff Johnston and David Havercroft for a candid conversation on how colleagues can actively champion women’s careers.
